For a Good Cause
Electricity has been an essential part of our daily lives, and without them, we won't have light bulbs at home, heaters to bathe, air-conditioners at night, and refrigerators to store our staples. There are so much more uses of electricity, and thus, as human beings, we started to take this god-send gift to us for granted, something we deserve to use.
Of course, as citizens, we pay for our monthly electricity bills so that the SP Group will supply electricity to us. BUT! BUT!!!
Do You Know? Fossil fuels like coal are often used as the main source of channel to generate electricity. This means that fossil fuels are burned on a daily basis, creating tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere, and risking the consequences of global warming.
The impact? As the severity of global warming continues, there will be a rapid rise of sea levels, causing flood risks to occur in low-lying community and high risk coastal properties whose development has been encouraged by today's flood insurance system.
Greater and longer / prolonged damages would occur in various countries during wildfire seasons. According to the report from ucsusa.org, higher spring and summer temperatures with snow melt in early spring result in forests that are hotter and drier for longer periods of time, making it a prime condition for wildfires to ignite and spread. Just imagine all the destruction on our mother nature and the innocent loss of lives for wildlife animals.
Now, you may think that all these isn't affecting us Singaporeans yeah. BUT!!! Wait!!! Hold your horses!
Singapore is situated near the equator and has a typically tropical climate, with abundant rainfall, high and uniform temperatures, and high humidity all year round. Quoting back to the article from ucsusa.org, the dangerously hot weather is already occurring more frequently than it did 60 years ago, as the scientists are expecting higher frequencies and severity of heat waves to intensify.
This will create serious health risk, such as heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and aggravating existing medical conditions to occur.
And look at our cute polar bears! The selfish acts of human beings has negatively impacted the living conditions in the planet polar regions, as the vast majority of the world's glaciers are melting faster than new snow and ice to replenish them.
Will the prediction that these polar bears are facing near extinction become a fact?!?!
This is the current scene of our environment and that is what motivates us to step up and do a part in our contribution to the environment. Thus, here we are! TA-DA!!! With our solar powered banks, you can now power it by the sun, and charge your them along with your phone wherever you are.
Of course, you can still choose to charge your power banks first before bringing it out with you, as it is functioned to allow two options to choose from, whichever convenience you the most!
For your information, Solar energy helps to have clean, renewable power from the sun which ultimately benefits the environment. Alternative to the use of fossil fuels, it can effectively reduce carbon footprint both at home and abroad, reducing greenhouse gases around the globe. Solar is thus known to have a favorable impact on the environment.
So what are you waiting for?! Stop all the destruction and start investing in solar energy now! You can do your part in the reduction of reliance on fossil fuels, which is in favor of one of the most abundant, consistent sources of energy we have available: our sun.
The benefits of solar energy are clear. Not only can you save money on all those electric bills – you can also reduce your carbon footprint and improve the health of those around you.
As we convey our message and stance of creating a sustainable and healthy environment, we have done our best in doing good for the environment. Every little efforts do matter, and it's your turn to do so now!
